The best part about classic games that gives them longevity beyond their original release are player created mods that make the game more fun or more ridiculous. The ingenuity of the modding community always finds ways to improve the games so which games are keeping the original Battlefront IIalive a decade after release?
Let's have a look.
Star Wars Battlefront Conversion Pack
Easily one of the largest mods for the game, the conversion pack adds 22 new maps, new clone legions, and most impressively 50 new heroes. Last patched in 2009, there are still comments on the pack as late as two weeks ago. This mod truly improves the amount of variability in the game and gives players more options than they may know what to do with (including a full set of Knights of the Old Republic assets). Eat your heart of Star Wars Battlefront.

Dark Times II: Rising Son
The only rival to the conversion pack will be this mod, which gamers will have to decide which they want installed over the other. Rising Son offers 16 new planets that include the expanded universe and update the lightsaber combat system to include a variety of attacks. The mod also includes its' own galactic conquest based mode that follows the story of Luke Skywalker and a rebel commando squad. This parallels the 501st main story of the game in a new take that could be it's own game if expanded upon.

Mass Effect: Unification
Yes, you read that right. If you've ever played a Star Wars game and thought, 'Wait, this isn't BioWare,' then this mod has the fix for you. The unification mod switches everything, from the Rebels becoming the Systems Alliance to heroes added like Samara. The sheer attention to basically rebuild the game in some aspects into a Mass Effect game would astound BioWare themselves. If they're ever looking for new employees, there's have a link below.

Tactical Enhanced Mod
If the game had become too easy, this mod makes accuracy more essential and the run and gun offense obsolete. The tactical enhanced mod makes the difficulty of the base game much harder while also making blasters far more potent. These changes make for game play that requires careful cover and precision, and if you try to shoot and move you might as well not shoot at all.

Battlefront Evolved
While the mod doesn't add any assets to the game, it instead re-textures all of the units and vehicles in the base game. With updated graphics, it makes the game look much younger than it actually is, and the improvements are very clear. For as well as other mods do in adding assets to the game, this one does an excellent job in re-texturing the actual game into one that could rival the current Battlefront game.

TORfront
This mod ties in the Old Republic by basing itself off of SWTOR, adding the online games skins, troopers, and even some planets. The mod was last updated in 2016 and is another example of the mods that are pushing the longevity of the original game. The mod also offers various re-modeling of current assets to create the feel of an FPS Old Republic game.
----
An important note to all of these mods is the active community around them that are bolstering the mods but the game itself. Each mod has comments and downloads from 2017, and most that are pending approval still. The original Battlefront IIis here to stay, and as the mods continue to improve it's hard to see an end for this one -- and we couldn't be happier.

Hello everyone,
this tutorial should show you how to install mods and KotOR Ultimate to your KotOR game on either Stand-alone-game, the Steam-version and on Linux-based systems(will follow later).
Most mods are packed into archives and have to be installed manual, but some even come with an installer, here you normally just have to choose the right folder to install them.
NOTE: THIS IS JUST THE GENERAL WAY MODS ARE INSTALLED IF A MOD YOU DOWNLOADED DOESN´T WORK IT MAY HAVE GOT PREFERENCES, READ THE MODS-README FOR INSTRUCTIONS THEN!
Pre-install-instructions: 1. Ensure that you have installed the latest DirectX that´s available. 2. Install the latest drivers available for your graphicscard. 3. Install the KotOR-Patch 1.03 for best compatibility Mods that come with installers: 1. Some installers directly look where your game is installed and will make it completely alone. 2. IF NOT: You just have to look where your game is located on your harddrive(normally it´s something like :'C:program fileslucas artsstar wars knights of the old republic' or something similar) 3.(STEAM)if you play with steam your game normally is located in a foler something like this: 'C:program filesSteamsteamappscommonswkotor' Windows Stand-Alone: 1. Unpack the mod you downloaded where ever you want. 2. Inside the unpacked folder there will be either the modded files or another folder that maybe called 'override' 3. Copy the whole content of the folder or the complete 'override' folder. 4. Go to your installtion folder of the game(normally it´s something like :'C:program fileslucas artsstar wars knights of the old republic' or something similar) 5. Look up if there´s a folder called 'override'. If not either paste the copied override folder or create a new one and paste the copied files into the the override folder. 6. Everythings done, start your game and enjoy the mod!
Steam-version:(almost same as stand-alone, the game is just located in another folder)
1. Unpack the mod you downloaded where ever you want. 2. Inside the unpacked folder there will be either the modded files or another folder that maybe called 'override' 3. Copy the whole content of the folder or the complete 'override' folder. 4. In this Case the game normally is located here: 'C:program filesSteamsteamappscommonswkotor' 5. Look up if there´s a folder called 'override'. If not either paste the copied override folder or create a new one and paste the copied files into the the override folder. 6. Everythings done, start your game and enjoy the mod!
Linux-Version:(more detailed step-by-step will follow)
If you play SW KotOR on Linux you surely play it via 'Play on Linux' 1. Open the virtual drive that play on linux has created for you. 2. The folder-system here shoul look similar to your Windows. 3. Just do steps 1-6 from the Stand-Alone-Version and everything should work fine!
So now I hope i was able to help you installing KotOR mods to your specific System. As soon as it´s possible to me i will make a tutorial how to install KotOR on Linux and how to install mods on Mac

Title. I've seen people posting screens from their game with what appears to be much higher res texture packs and much more realistic ambient lighting. I've had a look through a bunch of 'Recommended Mods' posts here but can't seem to find any full HD Texture Packs or Lighting mods.
Are there mods available that re-texture the entire game? Are there any lighting overhaul mods available at all or are the screens I've seen here just stuff people have done for themselves and not published?

Posted on September 4, 2012, CJ Miozzi 5 Essential KOTOR 2 Mods
With Knights of the Old Republic 2 finally on Steam, you may have the urge to play through the classic title one more time — or, for the first time. Gothic 2 dndr download version.
Whether you’re a veteran or a newcomer, your KOTOR 2 experience isn’t complete without mods. To help you out, we’ve assembled this list of five essential mods you shouldn’t play this game without.
that will enhance your experience. Watch the 36th chamber of shaolin english free movie download online. Note that this isn’t strictly a list of the best mods, but rather the mods that you shouldn’t do without.
5. 90SK’s SUPER Content Mod
What better way to kick off this list than with a content mod? Not just any content mod, mind you — a SUPER content mod. This massive content mod revamps the SWTOR 2′s armor and robes while also adding new encounters, merchants, items, character portraits, and more. Some of the new baddies are even fully-voiced, and the new dialogue is quality material. Look for new merchants on Nar Shadaa and Onderon.
4. Ultimate Saber Mod
No, I’m not just picking mods with the words “super” or “ultimate” in them. This saber mod adds 36 new lightsaber hilt models to the game, enhancing your saber customization options. All of the important Jedi and Sith NPC’s in the game will also be sporting the new lightsaber hilts.
3. Skip Peragus
Want to get to Telos in under 15 minutes? This mod allows you to skip through the vast majority of Peragus and even acquire a lightsaber, color crystals, and a pair of weak Jedi Robes — essential for second, third, of twelfth playthrough.
2. KOTOR and TSL Save Game Editor
Save game editors aren’t just for “cheating.” This one allows you to do so much more than alter your attributes, skills, feats, Force Powers, and equipment. You can do those things, of course, but you can also change your character’s name, your class, your appearance, the names, classes and appearance of your companions, and much, much more.
1. TSL Restored Content Mod
Apparently, a fair amount of content was cut from Knights of the Old Republic II, and this mod restores that missing content.
There are complete story arcs, each planet has some added content, you have party interaction, Dantooine is much more complete and the Battle is even more epic. There is also the much vaunted HK factory and new high quality voice-overs.
To quote from the trailer:
There was once a game. And it was released to the public incomplete, and left broken.
Now… it has been made whole.
(Cue dramatic music)
